general info
Name: Adamanthea
Nickname: Thea
Gender: female
Age: WIP
Birthday: WIP
Sexuality: WIP
Relationship Status: Single
Bio: Thea was born into a tribe of warrior women who live alone in the wilderness. The warriors, who call themselves the Auitguss, do not bring men to the tribe because they believe men are weak and stupid and are only good for providing babies. When the Council that governs the tribe decides it is time for one of the warriors to have a child, the chosen warrior ventures away from home to find a suitable male to mate with. Once she knows for certain that she is pregnant, the warrior returns to the tribe to have her child.
Any boys that are born to the warriors are raised in the tribe as slaves, until they are old enough to live on their own. Then the boys are forced to leave the group and are warned that they must never come back. If they do, the warriors will attack them. Any girls that are born to the warriors are raised in the tribe, taught how to hunt and fight, and are expected to follow the ways of the tribe until their dying breath.
Thea, however, was not like the rest of the good warrior daughters. She constantly questioned her teachers about her training and the rules of the tribe. To try and break her curiosity and inability to follow orders without question, her teachers forced her to train longer and harder than the other girls. But it never worked. Thea's mother, Oglisa, was one of the Elite, a group of warriors who are known for their skills and prowess, but even her mother could not break Thea's stubbornness.
Thea snuck away whenever she could to visit the boys who lived in the tribe. All of the boys were forced to live in one hut together. The oldest boys were expected to take care of the younger boys, including babies and toddlers. Thea was always careful to not get caught hanging out with the boys because she knew the consequences would not be good. She helped take care of the babies and toddlers, played games with the youngest boys, and wrestled with the older boys.
Over the years, after countless visits to see the boys in their hut, Thea fell in love with one of them, and he with her. Nikariah was Thea's age. He had been born a few months before her to a warrior named Sheki. Nikariah understood Thea's dislike of the rules and ways of the tribe. They spoke of running away together before Nikariah was inevitably forced from the tribe, but the two could not find a chance to do so.
One night, Thea was not as cautious as she normally was while on her way to visit Nikariah. She was followed by one of the warriors, who watched her sneak to the hut occupied by the boys. Nikariah met Thea outside of the hut and welcomed her with a kiss. The warrior followed Nikariah and Thea into the nearby woods, where the two of them went swimming in the river. Thea caught sight of the warrior as she took off, but Thea had not gotten a good look and thought perhaps it had been one of the younger boys. It was not long before the warrior returned with Thea's mother and members of the Council.
Thea and Nikariah were caught swimming together in the river. Oglisa dragged Thea from the water and dumped her on the shore in front of the Council members. The warrior that had followed the two of them dragged Nikariah from the water, as well. It was then that Thea recognized the figure she had seen running away as Sheki, Nikariah's mother. Sheki had been stripped of her title when she gave birth to him, as was customary with any warrior that gave birth to a son. The only way a warrior could regain her title was when her son was forced from the village. From the look on her face, Sheki thought that day had come.
The Council members condemned Thea and Nikariah. They said that the two of them knew that slaves were not allowed to mingle with the warriors, and that they had forsaken themselves and the entire tribe with their misguided acts. This sort of treachery had not occurred in many years. The Council said that they regretted what they must do, but that it was the best for all.
It was then that Sheki took her spear and stabbed Nikariah. Thea screamed and tried to stop the warrior, but she was held back by Oglisa. Sheki removed the spear and dragged her son away. Oglisa held Thea down until she stopped thrashing and screaming. The Council gathered around her and announced that, because of her crimes, Adamanthea was no longer a member of the Auitguss.
Thea was forced from the tribe. All of the tribe members came to lead her out, their spears drawn. Their ranks pushed her further and further into the forest, until she started running. The warriors began to chant, "The harlot is gone! The harlot is gone! The Tribe is cleansed!" That was the last that Thea saw of her mother, her tribe, and her lover, Nikariah.
Personality: Thea is a stubborn, strong-willed gal with a pretty unusual past. After she was forced from the tribe of warrior women that raised her, she ventured into modern society to try and find her place in the world. Because of her upbringing, Thea is socially awkward and doesn't understand modern societal cues or customs. She is terribly heartbroken and longs for her lover, Nikariah, whom she thinks is dead. Thea has a soft spot for children, especially male children.
